Sam Rayburn Reservoir occurs as reservoir in the United States located in Texas, 80 miles (130 klick) n of Beaumont. It was at one time referred to as McGee Bend Reservoir until 1963 when it was renamed after Sam Rayburn. A reservoir is fed per Angelina River. A capacity of the reservoir is 3,997,600 acre-feet (Foursome.Niner kilometer³), & is a big flow of any stream whole placed in the state of Texas. Construction began September 7, 1956 and began serving its purpose on March 29, 1965. A independent purposes of the reservoir come flood control & power generation. A reservoir is operated per United States Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth district.
